Job Description

EMPOWER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY is a private Christian school in Theresa Park, Pretoria North, (affiliated to Empower Church)

We are raising a generation of learners who know their God and who will use their acquire skills to serve His purposes over their lives.

Currently we have a vacancy in our Primary School staff team in the following role:

Teacher: Intermediate Phase

Qualification required:

  • A degree in education or an alternative degree with a professional teaching certification


  • Years of teaching experience in the Intermediate Phase will set you apart.
  • Exposure to Kagan cooperative learning would also be an advantage.
  • Maths and Science subject focus will be preferred.

Duties will include:

  • A full spectrum of responsibilities as required of a professional educator
  • Leading learners in a lifestyle of Christian discipleship
  • Assisting with extended duties in the weekly schedule
  • Subject specific engagement in various classes
  • Commitment to the extra-mural activities of the school

Competencies and Skills necessary:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues, parents and learners
  • An ability to bring enthusiasm, energy and fun into the classroom
  • Creation of systems, records and lesson plans that others would benefit from
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • A willingness to adapt to new systems and approaches to effective teaching
  • A contributor to team dynamics and team upliftment
  • Excellent ICT skills – a good level of computer literacy (elearning facilities in the classroom)
  • SACE registration
